Eleven Months

You read that right. It has been 11 months since Boston was born.

It has been an incredible time, full of so much more emotion than I ever knew I could feel. Boston is just such a great baby. We love having him in our family.

Here are some fun facts about our little boy at 11 months:

* He is an absolute speed demon when it comes to crawling. He moves so much faster than we ever expect. He has what we like to call a "stealth mode", where we are sure he is sitting, playing in one area but when we check to make sure, he is already in our bedroom, playing with our mirror.

* He has started pushing chairs and laundry baskets around the apartment and walking behind them. The end is near :)

* He prefers more and more to eat only the kind of food that we eat, as opposed to eating his baby food. He will still eat most of his fruits, but only a few vegetables. But if we offer him something from our plates, he'll eat it most of the time.

* He loves taking baths. He splashes and splashes. He doesn't care if he gets his face wet. He will just sit there with a shocked look on his face and then start splashing again.

(Clearly I need to start wearing a swimsuit while bathing him...)

* He seems to have started to transition to taking just one nap a day. I'm not too thrilled about this prospect, especially because we've only been on a consistent two nap schedule for a few months. He hasn't quite figured out how to only do one nap, but I can see he is working on it.

* He loves to put things in baskets as well as on top of bookshelves.

* He is a professional scowler...

* His night sleeping has left something to be desired, however he has gotten much better the last couple of nights. We are trying to work out what is going on that is making him wake up frequently, and the last two nights he has been sleeping much better. Hopefully soon we will make it all the way through the night.

* He is a problem solver. I love watching him figure out the solution to simple problems he faces, such as getting at a toy that seems to be just beyond his reach. He is such a smart boy.

* Every morning he is standing at the foot of his crib (which is right next to the door) waiting for me to come get him. He even tries to open the door sometimes.

* He's a daddy's boy, unless it is time to go to sleep... Then only momma will do.

* He is very vocal when he wants something. He points and says "uh, uh" until we give him what he wants (or what we think he wants). He tries so hard to communicate with us, and we love it.

* He loves to give kisses and eat our toes.

* He is such a sweet boy. He has started being more cuddly than ever. He will rest with Justin in the evening when it is time to get ready for bed, and he will smile as Justin rocks with him and sings to him.

It has been such a wonderful time watching Boston grow. He has brought so much joy into our home, and he has already taught me so much. I am learning to become a better, more patient mother, and I couldn't ask for a better teacher. He's so forgiving and loving and sweet.

Happy 11 months, little dude. Momma loves you!
