O N E!

I just can't believe it. Seriously. Does this feeling ever go away? How can it already have been a year? When I asked Justin how this could have happened, his answer was, "one sleepless night at a time." Haha, touche.

But really. It is amazing to me how fast this time seems to have gone. I literally remember everything about the day he was born as if it happened yesterday. Wait, it wasn't just yesterday? Hmm.

I have to share some of the pictures from his birthday party we had for him in Arizona. We had it at a local park where there was a nice splash ground for the kids to play at (since it was August in Arizona). Of course, the two weeks we were visiting happened to be the two hottest weeks Arizona had seen all summer. The day of his birthday party, it ended up being 113 degrees... ouch. But, we perservered and had the party, anyway. A few people even showed up :)

A nice shot of some of the family members who came to celebrate with us. There were more people who came, I just didn't get pictures of them on the camera, but I have video proof :)

This was while we were eating some food, before I took Boston to the splash pad. His cheeks were quite flushed because, even in the shade, it was warm. But actually there was a little breeze, so it really wasn't too terrible.

And now the fun pictures begin.

I wasn't sure how Boston would react to us placing a cake in front of him. He hasn't really enjoyed it when he gets his fingers in his food, or if some of the food he picks up gets on his hands - he doesn't really like to be messy.

"What's going on?"

"Hmm"

"Ok. I can get used to this."

And now...these are my favorite pictures - EVER. Seriously, prepare yourself for the cutest pictures you've ever seen.

"Hey mamma! This is fun!"

This picture just makes me so incredibly happy.

"Look at what I did!!"
If you aren't just grinning ear-to-ear now, then there is something seriously wrong with you ;o)
Boston didn't actually eat any of the cake...I gave him about three bites - each of which he made a face as though it was a very sour bite of lemon - he just wasn't interested in eating it, only playing.
This is long, so I will just end with some of the fun things Boston does at the age of one:
*Claps
*Waves (this is new, he figured it out about a week ago)
*Crawls like a madman
*Cruises around furniture like a pro
*Pushes anything (and anyone) around to walk behind
*Has taken a few steps to Justin and me unassisted
*Loves to say "Mamma" and "Dadda". It doesn't usually mean me or Justin in particular, but it does occasionally.
*Is able to show what a bunny "says." I'll have to upload a video of it - it is so cute. He opens and closes his mouth. I was showing him what a bunny says by scrunching my nose and mouth and he was mimicking me by opening his mouth. I'll get the video up...
*Cuddles with me when he wakes up from a nap or in the morning
*Does not sleep through the night....we are working on this one, and it is getting better. We'll get it figured out sooner or later. (I'm hoping for sooner...)
*Loves his dad - and lets out a scream of excitement pretty much anytime he sees Justin.
We love Boston so much. It is hard to believe it has been a year. We can't wait to see what you have in store for us this next year and all the years to come!

Love you.
Love,
Mamma

You may actually be right! Those may be the cutest pictures I've ever seen. And wait until you're saying . . . "He's turning 29?! Seriously? It seems like yesterday." Of course 29 year olds do not look nearly as cute eating cake. Happy Birthday, Boston!
