Animal Kingdom (Florida Day 4)

We were told by countless people who were familiar with Disney World to skip Animal Kingdom. They all said that it was just kind of boring, and not worth the time because there wasn't a lot there to do. We considered not going, but I am so glad we went. It was really a lot of fun.

It ended up being quite chilly for the first part of the day. I am sure it was because of the surroundings of the trees and forest-like foliage.

We really liked the Expedition: Everest roller coaster. What a unique ride. I think we went on it a couple times - we really enjoyed it.

One of the main things we wanted to be sure to be able to do while we were at the park was the Jungle Safari. The park was only open for limited hours (because the sun was setting quite early), so we wanted to make sure to get on the ride as early as possible. Thankfully we were able to get on it without having to wait long in line at all, and it was quite worth it. We were able to see all sorts of wild life including giraffes, elephants, hippos, and other animals that I can't remember the names of :)

Boston ended up falling asleep on the ride, which I hadn't realized. He had been sitting in my lap, and I couldn't see his face. I was trying to lift him up so he could see the elephants (he makes a mean elephant sound), and he started crying quite hard and loud. As soon as I turned him around and rested him on my shoulder, he was out like a light. Too cute. He missed pretty much the whole safari, but oh well :)

We discovered at Magic Kingdom that he really liked to go on rides like Dumbo or Aladdin's Magic Carpets. They happened to have a dinosaur version of this ride at Animal Kingdom, and as soon as he saw it, he was excitedly pointing at it, and all but begging me to go on it. What else could I do? I had to oblige :)

He held onto Justin's empty hot chocolate cup the entire time. But he did like being on the ride, and was very sad when it was over.

Overall, we really liked Animal Kingdom. It was very laid back, not very busy but quite beautiful. Definitely worth the time to go, but it also didn't take a whole day. The park closed at 5:00 which gave us a free evening. We spent the evening at Downtown Disney and then called it an early night and headed back to our hotel room.

This was Boston pretty much every single night. We wore the kid out. But it was extremely nice because he also slept very, very well in the hotel room. He was sleeping better in the hotel room than he had been sleeping at home. I got an amazing amount of sleep on this trip - it was great!

Day 5 is next: Epcot!
