Hollywood Studios (Florida Day 1)

We went down to Florida in October to go visit Disney World and Universal Studios since Justin had never been and my visit to Disney World when I was younger was truncated, and I didn't remember much of it. We visited all the theme parks of Disney World (not the water parks), as well as the Islands of Adventures at Universal Studios. It was a jam-packed week, but we had a blast!

The first day we went to Hollywood Studios. Boston was just so excited to go to the park he could hardly wait to get out the door of the hotel room!

(It is a little crazy to think that he wasn't fully walking at this point. Now that he has been walking for a couple weeks, it seems as though he has always been walking...does that make sense?)

At the entrance of the park.

We weren't sure how he would react to meeting the characters. We had tried to at least introduce some of the characters before we went by reading him Disney stories, and getting him a few stuffed animals. It turns out that we had absolutely NOTHING to worry about....

He absolutely adored meeting Winnie the Pooh. He gave him a big ol' kiss on his nose and just kept grabbing onto him. It was so much fun!

The family with Pooh Bear

And again, when we went to see Mickey, he was so excited! He actually got quite frustrated because we had to stand in line and wait before we got to go see Mickey. It was especially hard for him because he could see Mickey while we were in line (he couldn't see Pooh while we were waiting), but we wouldn't let him down to go crawl to him. He had been very happy in line for the first 10 minutes, but then started crying when we weren't getting to Mickey fast enough. However, as soon as we walked up to Mickey he stopped crying and was reaching out to give him a kiss, honk his nose, and even make Mickey clap his hands for him. It was a lot of fun.

The perfect sign :)

Apparently in the various parks there are little play areas for young kids to run around in. Having never gone to a Disney park with a mobile child before, I had no idea these kinds of things existed. Boston had a blast going into these little areas. Like I said, his walking wasn't super stable at this point, but he did pretty well. He also crawled around a lot. His favorite things to play on were the slides as well as crawling through the tubes.

I loved taking him down the slides. He was always so excited.

Again, so thrilled about being able to crawl around.

We really enjoyed Hollywood Studios. We did discover, however, that with Boston being a lot more aware of his surroundings, it meant he got startled a lot easier than he had in the past. We tried watching a few of the different shows that they offered, but I ended up having to leave early from most of them because the loud noises would really upset him. The one show that I really wanted to be able to sit through was Fantasmic, and I was pretty sure that, based on the experiences from earlier in the day, that he would not be too thrilled about the show. However, we had clearly worn him out because he ended up falling asleep in my arms within the first 5 minutes of the show.

So that was our first day at Disney World. Next up, Universal Studios!
